Shelf Catalog Privacy

Nooks

A home catalog that lives on your own iPhone.

Terms of Use

Version 1.0 · Last updated 8 October 2026

The short version. Nooks keeps your catalog on your device. There is no account to create, no server holding your records, and nothing is published anywhere. You own everything you enter.

01

What Nooks is

Nooks is a cataloging tool for household belongings. You photograph an item, give it a name and a category, and file it into a place such as a room, a drawer, a bin or a shelf. You can search that catalog and generate a printable sheet of what you have filed.

02

Your content stays local

Item records, photographs, notes, spaces and settings are stored in the app's own storage area on this iPhone. They are not uploaded to us and we have no way to read them. There is no sign-in, no profile, no sync and no social feed. If you delete the app, that data goes with it.

03

Photos, camera and microphone

Nooks asks for a permission only at the moment you use the matching control:

Declining any permission leaves the rest of the app working; the affected control simply reports that it is unavailable at that moment.

04

On-device recognition

When you add a photo, Nooks may suggest a name, a category and outlines for the objects it notices. That analysis runs with Apple's on-device frameworks and the photo is not sent anywhere. Suggestions are only suggestions — you can rename, recategorize or ignore them before saving.

05

Sheets and purchases

Generating a catalog sheet costs Sheets, a consumable in-app purchase. Sheets are spent inside the app and are not restorable. The preview you see before generating is free, and a Sheet is debited only after a sheet is rendered. If a generation is cancelled or fails, nothing is charged. Billing is handled by the App Store under your Apple account; we never see your payment details.

06

Acceptable use

Use Nooks for lawful purposes and only for belongings you are entitled to record. Do not rely on it as the sole record of anything of legal, financial or insurance value; keep the documents that matter to you in whatever official form they are issued in.

07

Removing your data

Delete Account inside the app erases every item, photograph, space and Sheet balance from this iPhone. Log Out clears the welcome gate and keeps your catalog. Removing the app also removes its storage.

08

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the updated version appears at this address with a new date. Continuing to use the app after that point means you accept the updated terms.
